One year ago, Alturas Ventures completed the acquisition of Idaho Fitness Factory. This acquisition was a landmark for our team—not only because this was the first acquisition in the Alturas Business Fund, but also because of the impact Idaho Fitness Factory has had on the Treasure Valley. The prior owners founded Idaho Fitness Factory in 2011 on Fairview Avenue with the goal of building a community gym open to all. Over the years the business continued to grow by prioritizing low-cost memberships and low-pressure environments with no contracts.
Idaho Fitness Factory has proven that a member-first experience drives sustainable growth. That, coupled with a strong operational team, led the company to 8 locations across the Treasure Valley with the goal to expand beyond. The Alturas Ventures team has spent the last twelve months learning alongside, and from, the Fitness Factory team; from day-to-day operations to long-term visioning, we couldn’t have better partners. The ultimate success of Idaho Fitness Factory comes from the team that was already in place. From that foundation, we can continue to grow.
We have seen staff members work hard to maintain clean clubs, working equipment, and top-notch customer service. Operating a customer-focused business requires immense attention to the member experience. The operating team has taken steps to deepen touch points with members, including launching a member app, integrating CRM software, streamlining membership options, and improving member-staff communication channels.
With a dedicated focus on learning and adapting to the unique dynamics of the fitness industry, we are excited to bring a Fitness Factory to every neighborhood.
